Teaches Synergy, Fame, Encore, Celebrate, Hero, USA, Good News, Harmony, Harmony High, Harmony  Mid., Lift Clinics and private vocals.

D. Kim Clayton has been the owner, director and producer at Clayton Productions for over 25 years. During that time there have been over 6,000 students at his studio. He has produced over 100 shows, arranged and written nearly 1,500 songs for these organizations and choreographed over 1,000 numbers. He is a professional vocalist and voice-over specialist with many local and national television ads, radio spots and infomercials carrying his deep bass voice. D. Kim Clayton is also the main voice instructor at Clayton Productions while being a father of 5. His teaching background includes: Classical, pop, country, musical theater and gospel middle. He received his BA and Masters in music from the University of Utah. Many of his students have gone on to professional careers in the musical world including Broadway, Television, Movies, local and regional theater, Disney productions, BYU’s Young Ambassadors, etc. His first studio, Clayton Entertainment was the very first of its kind in the state of Utah.

Francine Faerber Thompson – Office Manager and Instructor

Office Manager, Directs Pizzazz, Sensation and Kiddin’ Around

Francine Faerber Thompson majored in Music at the University of Utah and ran a private voice and piano studio for 15 years. She has performed and done professional recordings with Studio One’s “Light Wave Choir”, Hamilton Singers,  and the Mormon Youth Chorus.  She currently performs in CP’s “Harmony” Adult A cappella Group.

Francine worked for the Finance Department of the LDS Church, and served as president of the employee association. She produced their monthly newsletter, planned department socials and directed the department choir. Francine organized and trained an 800 voice choir for the 2005 “Day of Celebration” at Rice Eccles Stadium. She is the mother of five children who have all been a part of Clayton Productions, and are as passionate about music as she is! Francine is one planning fanatic!



Vanessa Clayton Lopez – Choreographer

Teaches Synergy, Fame, Encore, Celebrate, Freaky Fridays, and  Private Vocals

Vanessa Clayton Lopez is one of our lead choreographers at Clayton Productions and one of our private vocal instructors and the daughter of D. Kim Clayton, Owner and Director of Clayton Productions.   Besides being a talented choreographer, Vanessa is an extremely accomplished vocalist and performer herself.  She has choreographed a myriad of productions that have been seen throughout Utah and throughout the entire world.

Vanessa has been performing since she could talk.  Her rich contralto voice is not only mesmerizing, but extremely versatile.  She was a performer at Clayton Productions for over 20 years and been one of our instructors since she was 12 years old.  Her vocal and dancing skills have been viewed by tens of thousands of people throughout the world including such places as: Walt Disney World, 2002 Winter Olympics, England, Scotland, Wales, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Taiwan, to name a few.  She has also been a guest soloist for professional sporting events, singing the national anthem.

Not only is she a busy instructor and choreographer, but a wife and the mother of a beautiful little girl!

Lisa Dodge – Instructor

Teaches Upbeat, To The Top,  and Starstruck

Lisa has been at Clayton Productions in a teaching position for 11 years. She is the “guru” of our younger performers. Nobody has the charm and love for youth like Lisa. Her radiant personality and energy comes shining through as you watch these young kids. Lisa has also been a special needs teacher in the Murray School District as well as a Musical Theater Director at Riverview Jr. High. She is a talented performer, vocalist and designer. She has been performing for 26 years. Part of that performing experience has been in the Internationally acclaimed group, “Synergy” at Clayton Productions, and numerous musical productions as a perfromer and director with Sandy, Draper, West Valley and Taylorsville cities.

Stephanie Dowse – Dance Company Director and Choreographer

Dance Company Director and teaches Pizzazz and Sensation

Stephanie has been a part of Clayton Productions for 15 years and has been teaching there for 10. She has participated in Clayton Productions group “Synergy” and traveled with them to the Philippine’s in 2010, and Ecuador in 2012.  She has trained in Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary dance.  She has danced at White Shoes ballet studio and was a member and officer of Cottonwood High School’s Dance Company.  Stephanie has also been a part of Clayton Productions Dance Company since it first started and was the director of the company for the 2009-2010 and 2012-2013 years.  For the past 3 years she has been choreographing “Pizzazz” and “Sensation”.  She loves  learning, teaching, and working with these girls, and especially being able to teach these groups with her mom (Francine).  Stephanie will not be teaching any of the dance company classes this year as she is taking on the role of a new mom!  Performing and dancing is Stephanie’s passion, and she is so excited for the upcoming year!

Maddie has danced since the age of three and has fallen in love with it. She has trained at AED, Studio 1, and danced for Clayton Productions for 4 years where she traveled to Seattle, Florida, New York and Chicago. She danced on Bingham Highs dance company her senior year in high school. Maddie then continued her dance career at Dixie State University where she was on their dance team her first year of college. She was able to attend a camp in LA where she was taught by professionals, and also traveled to San Francisco with the team to perform. Her second year of college she was on Utah Valley Universities dance team. She was able to attend a camp in Las Vegas where she was able to take classes by professional dancers. Dance has been a huge part of Maddie’s life and she is excited to teach and help her students gain a love for it as well. She’s extremely excited to be back at Clayton and can’t wait to watch her students improve and grow.





Stephanie Dana – Choreographer

Teaches Flash and Dazzle

Stephanie Dana has been dancing for 28 years and teaching for 15 years. Stephanie has been trained in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Modern and Ballet. She was on her high school drill team, serving as drill mistress and on the Southern Utah University Waukeenyan dance team, serving as choreographer. Stephanie not only has taught for studios all over Utah, but has also choreographed for studios, drill teams, cheer teams, dance companies and college dance teams throughout Utah, Idaho and Arizona. Stephanie coached the Murray High School drill team for 5 years, taking them to National Champion status and also coached the Canyon View Drill Team, taking them to the State Competition for their first time.

Currently, Stephanie choreographs for Clayton Productions, Utah Dance Artists and many dance teams throughout Utah. She works as a full-time leasing consultant and also owns a photography business, Photos By Stephanie. Stephanie has been with Clayton Productions since 2005 and loves sharing her passions here.

Sarah Rasmussen – Choreographer

Sarah has been dancing since the age of three, and performing with Clayton Productions for seven years. She trained at Utah Dance Centre, The Dance Company and The Dance Project. She was a member and officer of the Brighton High “Accadian” Drill Team for three years.  In 2014, Sarah participated in Clayton Productions performing group “Synergy” traveling with them to South Africa. She performed as a dancer with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the 2014 Christmas Concert with Santino Fontana and the Sesame Street Muppets. Sarah has a love of performing and hopes to bring that joy and excitement to the classes that she teaches. She is ecstatic to be able to teach at such an amazing studio.

Missy Omer – Instructor

Teaches Kiddin’ Around

Missy Omer began dancing at the age of 3 and started singing and dancing in performing groups when she was 5 years old. She has performed across the country in a variety of settings, including performing in Disneyland and dancing in Ballet West’s production of The Nutcracker. Missy’s talents have taken her all over the world performing in Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Thailand, Romania, and Venezuela. She has also performed as a member of Synergy and our a cappella group, Harmony. Missy has taught piano lessons for over ten years and the mother of two darling children. That’s one very busy lady!


Hilary Young – Choreographer and Dance Technique Instructor

Hilary has been dancing for sixteen years. She is trained in many genres including: ballet, jazz, hip hop, African, modern and contemporary. For thirteen years she performed for Clayton Productions and while there developed her Broadway background.  With them she toured all over the country performing in various venues such as state capitals, Disney theme parks, Universal Studios, Ronald McDonald houses, retirement centers, children’s cancer hospitals, festivals, etc. From them she learned the importance of service through dance.  Dancing not only serves the individual but is a gift that can and ought to be shared to brighten the lives of those around you.  During High school Hilary was an officer for Brighton Dance Company and was able to choreograph many pieces for their performances and concerts. In college she was a part of Salt Lake Community College Dance Company. She served first as a public relations officer and later as SLCC Dance Company President. Hilary loves to dance, perform, choreograph and teach.  She is so excited to once again be apart of Clayton Productions!




Julie Knight – Financial Secretary

Julie is thrilled to be back at Clayton productions.  Julie started performing with Clayton at the age of six, when the studio first opened.  She continued performing and, eventually, teaching at the studio for 20 years.  Julie has been a part of four Synergy groups touring Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Venezuela.  She taught for Kim for five years before she and her husband moved out of state.  Beyond her experience at Clayton, Julie spent two years as the choreographer for Encore, a touring show choir from the Institute of Religion at the University of Utah.  She choreographed a church/community production of the musical “1776” in Philadelphia.  She has also choreographed numerous groups for church and school groups including an elementary school musical last year.  Julie is the mother of five children, four of whom are now students at Clayton Productions.


Julia Pehrson – Choreographer

Julia has been performing since the age of 5 and has loved every second. Julia competed with Dance Attack and Buckles & Bows for 9 years. She was part of the many time Jr. Western National Championship Ballroom Team and was the National Freestyle Champion in Clogging. She has directed shows for Draper Historic Theatre, Taylorsville Arts Council, as well as Riverview Jr. High. She has been blessed with the opportunity to have performed for 2 years with the group ‘Synergy’ here at Clayton Productions. Julia is currently a Librarian at Murray Public Library and a Hair Stylist for Kalia Cut and Color! Man, can she move those feet!
